Gander Mountain Nine Month Forage is an annual crop, which means you can one growing seasons worth of forage.
Gander Mountain has specifically selected Fall Oats, Winter Wheat, Winter Rye Grain and Dwarf Essex that keeps deer on the plot from early fall to the following early summer.
In areas where there is not a green forage source in late fall (winter wheat or winter rye), Nine Month Forage will draw deer from a large area.
Seed depth: 1-1/2 inches. Nine Month Forage needs to be planted deeper than Management Advantage or Adrenaline Forage.
Nine Month Forage can be planted with a grain drill or broadcast.
PH requirements: A neutral PH of 7.0 is optimal, however, Nine Month Forage Blend will perform well in pH’s ranging from 5.4 to 7.0.
Seed Rate: 50 lbs. of seed will cover approximately ½ acre or 21,780 sq. ft.
Wildlife attracted: NineMonth Forage Blend will attract mainly attract deer, however turkeys and game birds (quail, pheasants, grouse) will eat the grain in the crop produces as well.
When to plant Nine Month Forage: Plant in late summer, approximately 4-6 weeks before a killing.
