Gander Mountain Forage Beans is an annual crop, which means you can one growing seasons worth of forage.
Gander Mountain has specifically selected an early bean that is sure to mature in any growing area.
In areas where soybeans are not grown, Forage Beans will be especially popular with your local deer herd.
Seed depth: 1-1/2 inches. Forage Beans need to be planted deeper than Management Advantage or Adrenaline Forage.
PH requirements: A neutral PH of 7.0 is optimal. However, Forage Beans will perform well in pH’s ranging from 5.4 to 7.0.
Seed Rate: 30 lbs. of seed will cover approximately ½ acre or 21,780 sq. ft.
Wildlife attracted: Forage Beans mainly attracts deer, however turkeys will seek out insects in the crop as well.
When to plant: Forage Beans can be planted after the last killing frost in the spring.
